Croatia Multi-Stop with review!

Updated: Feb 9, 2020

James organised my recent holiday to Croatia for my girlfriend and I. We were looking for something a bit different and asked for a holiday somewhere warm that wasn’t just a beach holiday and where we could sightsee as well as chill out and also do some partying. We were happy to visit different places but wanted it to be as easy as possible as we were only going for a week. James took time to understand our requirements and then came back with a tailor made package that suited us and was within our budget. The holiday comprised two days in Split, two days on the Island of Hvar and three days in Dubrovnik with boat transfer between the destinations.

The tickets and details of the trip all arrived in good time, all transfers were included and ran really smoothly, the hotels were fantastic and really boutique as we had asked. We absolutely loved Croatia, the weather was perfect and the entire trip was superb.

I cannot recommend James highly enough. Roll on my next holiday!

Split Adriatic Attraction

Known for its irresistible beaches, terracotta rooftops and fascinating history, Split is fast becoming one of the most popular destinations in Croatia. It’s the largest city on the Dalmatian Coast, set on the Adriatic Sea, half way between Dubrovnik and Zadar.

Ancient Streets

Walking through Split’s winding streets is like stepping back in time. Peppered with Roman buildings and ruins from the Middle Ages, this city is steeped in history. As you meander through the Old Town’s narrow lanes, expect to stumble across beautiful stone buildings and grand archways. The ancient palace and cathedral are particularly impressive.

Blue Flag Beach

The curling coves along Split’s coast have formed several gorgeous beaches, but Bačvice tops them all. It’s near the centre of the city, and the sand is so spotlessly clean that the beach has been awarded a Blue Flag. Shallow, clear water means it’s perfect for families, while more adventurous swimmers can find deep water further from the shore.

Party Central

If you think Dubrovnik is the party capital of Croatia, think again. From classy cocktail bars on the seafront to lively bar crawls in the city, Split wakes up once the sun goes down. There are loads of nightclubs to choose from and, in the summer months, you can dance at the beach parties until the sun comes up.

Marmont Heritage Hotel, Split

The Adults only 4* Marmont Heritage Hotel offers guests a fantastic location within the winding streets of Split. It’s close to bars, restaurants and boutiques, as well as being just a six minute walk from the beach. This beautiful hotel has a sense of history and Croatian culture, which can be found in its 15th Century building, as well as modern amenities and elegant décor throughout each of the rooms.

Relax in this boutique hotel, knowing everything is taken care of, with personalised service available 24 hours per day. The restaurant serves up a delicious selection of cuisines, with both Croatian and international options on the menu. Enjoy an extensive buffet spread for breakfast, succulent meats and fresh local seafood for lunch and dinner or a traditional afternoon tea. The lounge bar and terrace are ideal for those wanting to unwind with a drink at the end of the day.

Hvar A Model Town

Hvar Town certainly has looks on its side. It’s actually considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Croatia. Its gothic palaces and squares are framed in by 13th-century walls, which slope downwards to the Adriatic Sea’s azure waters. See it from above with a trip to the Spanish Fortress. It’s perched high on a hill overlooking the terracotta rooftops, the marina and the pine-cloaked islets that dot the shores.

Cathedrals and cafes

St Stephen’s Square is at the town’s centre. This long rectangular plaza was formed when an inlet was filled in and paved over. There’s a cathedral with a tall bell tower at its helm, while street cafes line up either side. Wander south along the bay and you’ll come to the 15th-century Franciscan Monastery – make sure you go inside to get a glimpse of the impressive Last Supper painting in the dining hall.

Island life

While Hvar Town doesn’t lay claim to any beaches per se, just a hop across the water lands you on an archipelago that’s full of them. Named the Pakleni Islands, these largely-uninhabited mounds are fringed by secluded sand-and-pebble coves. And that’s not all they have to offer – there are museums, one of the best nightclubs around and some decent snorkelling, too.

Hotel Fortuna is a family 4 star boutique hotel located at the beach in Milna village, 5 km away from the center of Hvar town in Hvar island in Croatia.

Hotel was completely renovated in 2011. It consists of 18 bright rooms (each room has LCD TV, fridge, coffee/tea machine, free WI-FI internet access, DVD player). Bathrooms are well equipped with hairdryers and showers, while some of them are hydromassage showers.

Dubrovnik An ancient city with a modern side

Sitting on the south coast of Croatia, Dubrovnik may be steeped in history, but it’s a city with a very modern side, too. Within its solid walls, Medieval houses, ancient palaces and historic churches rub shoulders with chic boutiques, stylish bars, modern hotels and bustling eateries. Plus, you've got the beaches and islands of Dubrovnik’s Adriatic Riviera right on your doorstep.

Beach life

With Dubrovnik, you get an assortment of beaches. Quite a few of them are pebbly, like Banje Beach, just below the walls of the old town. This one’s got sheltered bathing, plenty of seafront bars and cafés, plus a complete line-up of watersports. And the resort is close to lots of little islands that come with lovely secluded sandy coves.

Historic old town

UNESCO has its name all over Dubrovnik’s old town. Much of its Renaissance architecture was wiped out in the 1667 earthquake, but there’s still some parts left – like St Saviour Church – among the newer Baroque style. Also worth seeing are the
